The notion of extreme comes from the Latin word extrēmus. The term allows you to refer to a thing that is in your more intense or high grade . For example: “We had to endure extreme temperatures on the top of the mountain”, “Extreme violence has taken over society”.

In this sense, it should be stressed that, based on this meaning, we find the fact that in recent years various activities that have been described precisely as extreme have become fashionable. And it is that those who perform them are in need not only to face dangerous challenges but also to have to put to the limit, to the extreme, their physical abilities to be able to develop them.

Among the many extreme activities that we find and that increasingly perform more people who love adventures and challenges are skydiving, the dynamic descent in white-water kayaks, rock climbing, canyoning or bungee jumping

Extreme is also an adjective that allows you to rate something like excessive or exaggerated : "I have an extreme tiredness, three days ago that I do not stop studying", “I have reached the extreme of lying so I can leave my house”.

One extreme is, on the other hand, the first (the beginning) or last (the final) part of something : "Please leave that bottle at the end of the counter", “The teacher is waiting for you at the other end of the yard”.

In some sports , the player who occupies an offensive position is called extreme close to the country bands : “The coach has asked me to play from end to left and try to overflow often”, "The right end of the visiting team has suffered a fractured left hand".

Thus, for example, in the F.C. Barcelona throughout its history has had the presence of great extremes that, without a doubt, achieved with its quality and its contribution to the game that the aforementioned club is one of the most important in the world. In this sense we could highlight as extreme Estanislao Basra, Portuguese Luis Figo, Stoichkov or the current Pedro Rodríguez, Jordi Alba, Isaac Cuenca and Cristian Tello, among many others.

In the same way we cannot ignore the existence of a series of adverbial phrases that also make use of the extreme term that concerns us. Thus, for example, there is one that says "in the extreme" that we could say that it is comparable to saying "if there is no remedy".

The concept of extreme, finally, is used to refer to limits of something, whether physical or abstract. When a person He says that he has reached an extreme, feels that he can no longer do anything else, or that he has done something of which he is not convinced.

“I lived an extreme situation, they pointed me with a revolver and threatened to kill me”, for example, is a phrase where the notion of extreme refers to explain the intensity of the moment.
