The notion of global warming it allows to refer to two related questions: on the one hand, it is a phenomenon observed in the average temperature of the last decades, which rises in a sustained manner; on the other hand, it is a theory which, from different projections, maintains that the temperature will continue to rise in the future because of the action of the man .

Despite the popularity that the subject has garnered in recent years, it is important to make some distinctions. Global warming is usually associated with climate change , although the latter phenomenon (the variation of weather ) has always existed and is natural. In any case, at present it is usually known as climate change produced by human action, which generates anomalous variations.

On the other hand, global warming is associated with greenhouse effect , which is a phenomenon by which certain gas that make up the Earth's atmosphere retain part of the Energy emitted by the ground after being heated by the radiation of the Sun . The greenhouse effect works as follows: solar radiation passes through the atmosphere, bounces against the ground and should go through the atmosphere again; however, greenhouse gases (such as carbon dioxide and methane) produce a layer of pollution that prevents the sun's rays from coming out again, producing an increase in the temperature in the land .

Among the main consequences that we can establish about the phenomenon of global warming we must state that, in addition to what is the considerable increase in temperatures, there can be a palpable growth of what are the respiratory diseases that human beings experience .

In this way, experts in the field rule that if this phenomenon continues to occur, the world population will be much more exposed to respiratory diseases. But not only them, it will also increase the number of people suffering from cardiovascular diseases, who will suffer from dehydration and also infections caused by mosquitoes or the like.

This aforementioned consequence, referring to the field of health, is mainly due to the fact that both the respiratory and cardiovascular systems are harmed by increasing temperatures since they bring about any individual having to make a greater effort to undertake any action or activity.

In the same way, global warming will result in both surface and groundwater losing quality as a result of these high temperatures. All this without forgetting that in both cases the amount of water would be palpably reduced and that the drinking water that is fit for human consumption would decrease significantly.

A fact that the latter would especially harm sectors such as agriculture because the lands would become drier, lose nutrients and also those would be more affected by pests, which are the ones that cause diseases in the plants and, therefore, spoil the crops.

Although certain specialists consider global warming to be a myth, there is some consensus about the need to reduce polluting emissions to prevent the heating Follow in an increase. If the trend is not reversed, glaciers could melt, increasing the level of water in the oceans and flooding numerous cities.
